Office Clerk / Administrative Transmountain 2 Year Project Job Opening in Vancouver, BC - Joe Knows Energy Recruitment 2018

The Office Clerk may be assigned to one or more projects or all projects performed through a Regional Construction Office. The Office Clerk is responsible for maintaining and operating a functional office at the project site. The clerk is considered a representative of the Company and should conduct themselves in a manner that is conducive to good relations with employees of the Company as well as anyone outside the Company.
Responsibilities:
  • Setting up and organizing the construction site office at the beginning of a project.
Perform clerical activities to support the Chief Inspector, including:
  • Filing all correspondence, reports and forms related to the project.
  • Typing all forms, letters and reports originated at the site.
  • Handling mail which is received from or sent out from the construction site office.
  • Collecting, preparing and transmitting progress reports to the Area Field Construction Office.
  • Calculating footages for daily progress reports and invoice quantities.
  • Answering telephones and relaying messages.
  • Perform invoicing functions as requested by the Cost Analyst, Contract Analyst, or Contract Conformance Specialist.
  • Assist with the initial generation and preparation of Prime Contractor progress billings.
  • Assist with the verification of invoices for payment.
  • Maintaining daily Contractor manpower and equipment loading on time and material projects.
  • Assist the Cost Engineer in tracking monthly construction costs and forecasting the final cost.

  • Overhead
  • Maintain a database or spreadsheet to accumulate the above mentioned costs on a monthly and to date basis.
  • Maintain contact with field and Regional Construction Office personnel to acquire information pertaining to potential changes in the project which may affect the schedule and or forecasted costs.
Qualifications:
  • The Office Clerk should have two (2) years of general clerical experience with exposure to field construction procedures and exhibit an introductory knowledge of gas pipeline construction.
  • The Office Clerk should be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Compensation: $75,000
