CCO offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Models of Care (MOC) program team. Launched in response to societal and health system pressures, such as increasing demand for cancer services and constrained healthcare resources, the MOC program reviews how we provide cancer care in Ontario to ensure that we reliably plan for our health human resource needs in the future. Working with stakeholders, the program identifies opportunities to improve care delivery models to ensure that the right care is provided by the right healthcare provider at the right place and time. We promote models that offer high-quality care and better value for money.
The MOC program is currently seeking a Senior Specialist to join the team and play an active role in designing and implementation of new models of care in Ontario. The Senior Specialist will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach in implementing initiatives and managing project plans and timelines for deliverables. The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to person-centred care, passion for innovation, and ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will report to the Manager of the MOC program within the Clinical Programs and Quality Initiatives division at CCO.
Here is what you will be doing:
  • Be responsible for several defined projects including communicating with relevant stakeholders, tracking completion of deliverables, maintaining clear project documentation, and providing input in a collaborative setting
  • Interact with relevant project and program stakeholders, including clinical experts, team members, steering committee and working group members, to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of models of care
  • Lead the scheduling, planning, and organization of meetings and events, develop materials and manage communication to support activites of selected advisory committees and working groups
  • Conduct environmental scans and literature reviews, develop briefing notes, position statements, presentations, and other documents, and actively participate in the development of recommendations
  • Act as a liaison and source of information for internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and exchange to support spread and scale of successful models of care
  • Support program evaluation activities
  • Identify issues and risks in a timely manner and escalate to the manager, as needed

Here is what you will need to be successful:
  • Completion of a bachelor's or master's degree in health sciences, health administration, public health, or recognized equivalent
  • 4 -6 years of overall working experience, including two years of work experience within the healthcare sector
  • An in-depth understanding of Ontario's healthcare environment
  • Experience in large-scale projects that involve multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in both project management and change management, with a focus on system improvement

  • Superior relations building skills, including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, consult, influence, and build consensus with stakeholders
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to details and organizational skills, including planning, goal setting, reporting, and analysis
  • Solid time management skills; m ust be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
