Our client in Canora, Saskatchewan has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Develops, maintains and applies consistent maintenance and reliability best practices (i.e. safety programs, routine safety audits)
  • Ensure all applicable government regulations are met at all times, gives input to safety performance analysis and improvements and Actively participate into incident analysis.
  • Develops, maintains and applies consistent maintenance and reliability best practices (i.e. safety programs, routine safety audits)
  • Responsible for closing the maintenance related gaps from audits
  • Complete regular checks of staff and equipment to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed and Company standards are met.
  • Maintain proper coverage by managing the maintenance staffing schedules
  • Make improvements to the process as necessary to maximize efficiency, increase product quality and/or lower costs.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Facility Manager and the maintenance staff
  • Accountable for a proper planning (Job Plan) of the preventive and predictive maintenance activities as under responsibility of the Maintenance planner and also accountable for a proper scheduling and according execution of predictive and preventive maintenance activities as under responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for the maintenance shutdown planning; Accountable for the scheduling and execution for replacement in kind activities under responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor and also for the spare part inventory strategy under responsibility of the Inventory Controller.
  • Notify the Facility Manager of potential safety hazards, equipment failures, operational inconsistencies and employee incidents.
  • Maintain continuous communications with Managers and supervisors of the areas of production.
  • Coach staff on the Company’s performance expectations and provide on-going performance feedback
  • Establish and maintain a spare parts inventory management system.
  • Establish and improve the Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Promotes a culture that builds, operates and maintains plants that are operational sound, safe and reliable. Implements leading reliability excellence practices and aggressively raises the performance of poor departments by monitoring key performance indicators (i.e. equipment down time, operator safety indexes, etc.) for a more complex facility.
  • Manage our Predictive Maintenance system and drive your department towards Reliability Centered Maintenance culture.
  • Assist in site construction management whenever needed. Ensure that project goals are met. Prepare the new projects for commissioning and startup
  • Lead Annual Shutdowns of the plant being responsible for Budget and coordination of all activities related with maintenance annual Shutdown
  • Develop training and operating procedures as needed / directed.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff as needed.
  • Direct and coordinate all maintenance activities with production management.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative resources to resolve production opportunities, improve efficiency, or otherwise reduce cost
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facility Manager or other executives
  • Coaches, trains and provides support to direct reports
  • This position will require occasional travel inside and outside the province and Country.
