    Amec Foster Wheeler (Nuclear Canada) is an engineering, nuclear safety and technical analysis company. We provide specialized services primarily to the nuclear power generation industry. Headquartered in downtown Toronto, we have over 500 staff, and we provide technical solutions to clients world-wide. Our work involves design engineering in all disciplines, and performing safety and engineering analyses using state-of-the-art engineering and analysis software, and interfacing with other engineering disciplines. Staff provide technical support to operating nuclear plants and strategic nuclear projects world-wide.
    Major work activities include the provision of engineering and technical services in support of the safe operation of nuclear power plants, as well as large scale reactor refurbishment projects and nuclear new build. Our staff conduct engineering design, analysis, and licensing activities for nuclear power plants, conventional power plants, and other process industries, participate in technical assessments and emergent troubleshooting to support refurbishment and operating units, provide fitness for service assessments for components and plants, assist senior engineers and project managers in execution of large scale engineering programs and projects, and provide technical interface with utility clients and regulatory staff.
    The successful candidate is expected to have sound fundamental knowledge of engineering and science principles; applicants with post-graduate degrees are also strongly encouraged to apply. The position is suitable for candidates with superior analytical and problem solving skills, technical aptitude in numerical/computational analysis. Candidates with advanced knowledge in various disciplines, such as computational fluid dynamics, two-phase flow and heat transfer, engineering material properties, stress analyses, fracture mechanics, electrical, mechanical or civil design engineering, risk assessment and physics are highly desirable. Additional experience or exposure to engineering project management is also desirable. Excellent written and oral communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are required. We are seeking those who are innovative, enthusiastic and ready to join a leading engineering, project management and consultancy company and be part of our dynamic team.
    You will be provided with extensive training opportunities in a variety of disciplines through our Graduate Trainee Rotation Development Program. In this program, you will be assigned to a variety of technical and project related roles including engineering design, nuclear safety analysis and licensing support, engineering project management, engineering services, field implementation support services and client relations. You will have an opportunity to learn a variety of industry standard toolsets and software used in the design, analysis, and operation of a nuclear power plant. Opportunities for work experience at one of our client nuclear facilities during your rotation also exist.
    Skills / Qualifications A minimum of a 4-year university degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial,
    Civil, Materials, or Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Science, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent is required. A valid driver’s license is an asset.
    We are seeking candidates to enter our Graduate Trainee Rotation Training Program and work at the following locations:
    1. Toronto, ON
    At our Toronto head office location, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles including: nuclear safety and engineering analysis, licensing support, design engineering, engineering services, engineering project management, quality engineering, and other related specialties. Opportunities for a developmental rotation one of our client nuclear facilities also exist. Our Toronto office is located in the downtown core near shopping, restaurants, museums, sporting, and cultural hubs.
    T his is a Toronto-based role with opportunities for temporary rotations at client facilities.
    2. Kincardine, ON
    At our Kincardine location, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles to support the Bruce Nuclear Power Plants operated by Bruce Power. Services provided from this office include: design engineering, engineering project management including the role of Project Controls Specialist, and design modification support including the role of Field Team Lead. Bruce Power Nuclear is located on the shores of Lake Huron between the towns of Kincardine and Port Elgin. This region is noted for its long sandy beaches, natural beauty and exceptional quality of life. Kincardine and Port Elgin are scenic towns filled with history, culture, and natural beauty, and are in a good proximity to Toronto – Ontario’s capital city.
    This is a Kincardine-based role with possible opportunities for temporary rotations at other work locations.
