About the role:
We are currently recruiting for Full Time French Bilingual Flight Attendants Toronto based. WestJet Encore is our regional airline with shorter flight times. Flight Attendants are not only ambassadors representing the company, but the face of our culture and our people. Flight Attendants (FA’s) are safety, security and service professionals, entrusted with the safety and security of our guests, crew members and the aircraft.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Must be able to communicate with an advanced level of written and spoken English and French
  • Must hold a current valid passport; where a Canadian Passport is not held, a Canadian Permanent Resident card (accompanied with all individual Visas necessary to enable you to perform the duties of a Flight Attendant wherever WestJet Encore operates) is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Pass (requires a 5-year traceable history, a clear criminal record and a Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident Card)
  • A clear criminal background check is required
  • Must be able to reach 183 cm or 72 inches flat-footed without shoes (emergency equipment requirement)
  • Height must be less than 6’2” (including footwear with a 2 inch heel maximum)
  • Must successfully pass a functional assessment – must be able to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist and 22 pounds overhead; Your functional capabilities must meet the essential functions of the Flight Attendant job
  • Must successfully complete a 5-week full-time initial training program in Calgary, as well as, annual training and any other training deemed necessary by the Company
  • Must complete a first aid course prior to initial training. The will cost be approximately $170.00 plus GST
  • Must be able to travel away from home (overnights are required)
  • Must be ready and willing to work 24h/7d/365y; must be able to work any hour of the day, and any day of the week or year
  • Must be available for reserve shifts. When on call for reserve, Flight Attendants must be contactable and able to report to work within 2 hours of the request being made
  • Must be able to adhere to strict uniform standards

Core Qualifications:
  • Advanced level of spoken French and English
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience
  • Must be able to solve problems and make quick decisions in the interest of crew and guests
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Must be flexible and able to work a varied schedule
  • Intermediate skill level with computers
  • Post-secondary education an asset

Safety and Security:
  • Enforcing and following all standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with WestJet Encore and regulatory requirements
  • Operate safety and emergency equipment such as oxygen systems, aircraft doors, fire extinguishers, galley equipment, communication equipment, and lighting systems
  • Ability to handle first aid situations onboard the aircraft
  • Manage uncomfortable situations such as disruptive and unruly guests

Guest Service:
  • Uphold exceptional guest service standards and Create A Remarkable Experience (CARE), both inflight and on the ground
  • Complete service and sales in accordance with WestJet Encore service standards
  • Greet and engage guests onboard the aircraft

  • Nous recrutons actuellement des agent(e)s de bord bilingues à temps plein qui seront basés à Toronto;
  • Les agent(e)s de bord de WestJet Encore ne sont pas que les ambassadeurs représentant notre entreprise, ils personnifient notre culture et nos employés;
  • Les agent(e)s de bord sont des professionnel(le)s du service, de la sécurité et de la sûreté, à qui nous confions la sécurité de nos invités, des membres de l'équipage et de l'appareil;
  • Une compagnie aérienne régionale a pour vocation les vols de courte durée.

Conditions d'emploi:
  • Être âgé de 19 ans ou plus;
  • Communiquer en français et en anglais de niveau avancé, à l'écrit comme à l'oral;
  • Détenir un passeport en règle. Les candidat(e)s qui ne possèdent pas de passeport canadien doivent avoir une carte de résident permanent ainsi que tous les visas nécessaires pour exécuter les tâches d'agent(e) de bord, peu importe où WestJet Encore exploite des vols;
  • Être en mesure d'obtenir et de maintenir un laissez-passer pour les zones réglementées d'aéroports (nécessite cinq ans d'antécédents directs, un casier judiciaire vierge, ainsi que la citoyenneté canadienne ou la carte de résident permanent);
  • Se soumettre à une vérification des antécédents criminels;
  • Être capable d'atteindre une hauteur de 1,83 cm (72 po) à pieds plats, sans chaussures (en cas d'urgence);
  • Mesurer au plus 6 pi 2 po, incluant un talon de 2 po maximum;
  • Réussir une évaluation fonctionnelle; être capable de soulever 50 livres du sol jusqu'à la taille et 22 livres au-dessus des épaules; vos capacités fonctionnelles doivent répondre aux fonctions essentielles de l'agente de bord
  • Réussir une formation initiale de cinq semaines à plein temps à Calgary, ainsi qu'une formation annuelle et toute autre formation jugée nécessaire par l'entreprise;

Qualification essentielles:
  • Diplôme d'études secondaires;
  • Communication à l'oral en anglais et en français de niveau avancé;
  • Minimum de cinq ans d'expérience dans la prestation d'un service à la clientèle exceptionnel;
  • Minimum de deux ans d'expérience dans le domaine de la vente;
  • Être capable de résoudre des problèmes et de prendre des décisions rapides dans l'intérêt de l'équipage et des invités;
  • Être à l'aise de travailler dans un espace clos;
  • Être adaptable et capable d'avoir un horaire de travail variable;
  • Posséder des compétences informatiques de niveau intermédiaire;
  • Une éducation post-secondaire est un atout.

Sûreté et sécurité:
  • Veiller à la sécurité et au confort de tous les invités, qui comprend de respecter toutes les procédures standards pour rester conforme aux exigences réglementaires et de WestJet Encore;
  • Faire fonctionner l'équipement de sécurité et d'intervention d'urgence comme les systèmes à oxygène, les portes de l'avion, les extincteurs, le matériel de l'office, l'équipement de communication et les systèmes d'éclairage;
  • Être capable de gérer des situations de secours à bord d'un avion;
  • Gérer des situations désagréables impliquant des invités indisciplinés et perturbateurs.

Service des invités :
  • Appliquer les normes de service exceptionnel des invités et promouvoir la culture de bienveillance « Create A Remarkable Experience (CARE) – Créer une expérience remarquable », que ce soit dans les airs ou au sol;
  • Offrir un service et réaliser des ventes conformément aux normes de service de WestJet Encore;
