The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is responsible for the safe, long-term management of used nuclear fuel in Canada. The approach it is implementing, known as Adaptive Phased Management (APM), involves developing a centralized underground repository, supported by a robust social and technical research program in collaboration with Canadian universities, consultants and international waste management organizations. Temporary Office Support (Occasional) We are currently seeking temporary office support workers to join a roster for our Office Services team, reporting to our Office Services Supervisor at our Toronto headquarters. This work would be required on an ad hoc basis and would appeal to someone seeking periodic employment. Responsibilities: Responsibilities are consistent with training and experience for performing clerical or administrative operations normally within a business office setting. In accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, and following established procedures, practices or instruction, perform the following clerical duties: 1. Use manual and computerized office equipment and a variety of software applications to carry out one or more of the following administrative support duties:  Produce correspondence, reports presentation material, standard forms, numerical data, and other documentation.  Schedule and maintain a calendar of events, work schedules and vacation records.  Make all necessary arrangements for meetings, including taking minutes at routine meetings, as per Manager’s instructions.  Make all necessary travel arrangements.  Assist with the processing of information for new employees that includes make arrangements for system access, badges, forms etc. 2. Operate and maintain computer based high volume production and colour graphics reproduction equipment, according to user manuals and established in house procedures. 3. Provide an electronic document processing service using the advance level of word processing software applications. Perform checking routines on finished products. 4. Perform records management and document control support functions such as scanning, sorting, filing, labelling, retrieval, etc. for various phases of document life cycle management. 5. Perform routine clerical tasks such as mail, courier, reception and switchboard, as required, in accordance with established procedures or instructions. Arrange for and perform bulk printing of material, packaging and handling as necessary. 6. Maintain, and update database information, manuals and other associated records. Generate reports as required and maintain files of all departmental orientation. 7. Process, distribute and track documentation. Verify details and compile statistics, ensuring deadlines are met, following up as necessary. 8. Maintain stationery, office supplies and publications ensuring sufficient inventory levels are maintained. 9. Prepare and process material requests and forward for approval. Check delivery documents against original orders following up on discrepancies by queries to others, including statement reconciliation. 10. Operate, demonstrate use of and maintain a variety of office equipment such as printers, fax machines, scanners and low volume photocopiers. Carry out routine cleaning, meter reading and making minor adjustments, including changing toner, print cartridges, paper supplies, etc. Carry out key operator duties as necessary. 11. Maintain task books and documentation related to all aspects of the job. 12. Accountable for the health, safety and wellbeing of self and others, as per established procedures and standards. Education & Experience :  Minimum Grade 11 education  Experience in an office environment  Knowledge of Microsoft office applications and other databases  Good communication skills; both written and verbal  Attention to detail  Customer oriented You must be eligible to work in Canada and must be able to meet security clearance requirements.
