Cority is looking for an experienced, strategic, high energy, dynamic leader to head the Professional Services Business Unit and to be part of the Executive Team.
The VP, Professional Services provides management oversight, guidance and complete ownership of all aspects of the Professional Services strategy, profitability, consulting methodology, operations, product delivery, project management and people management.
The VP, Professional Services is responsible for ensuring that the business unit is pursuing and executing a client-focused and well - resourced Professional Services strategy. The role will be the main liaison for the Professional Services with the Executive Team and all internal stakeholders.
  • The strategic focus of this role is to manage and improve the performance of the Professional Services team through strong leadership, training, mentoring and budgetary control
  • Set vision and direction for the business unit
  • People Leader for a business unit of 40+ resources (including PS Managers, Implementation Consultants, Project Managers and Project Analysts, many of whom work from remote home offices) in the execution of the team’s vision and business objectives in line with the overall company strategy
  • Direct manager for five (5) Professional Services Managers. The role involves all aspects of people management including resource planning, coaching, mentoring, hiring, firing and individual career development
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Cority Product Solution and the Cority Implementation Methodology and oversee the execution of the same
  • Identify, investigate, analyze and recommend alternative solutions to a wide range of operational issues in the Professional Services including workflow, large enterprise-level projects, client escalations or any other project that could improve the team’s effectiveness and efficiency
  • Interface and work closely with the Product, Sales, Marketing, Technology and Support Teams in the achievement of company and departmental goals
  • Influence Project Management direction and expansion. Ensure operational excellence between the Project Management team and the Implementation Team. Overall business objective is to ensure that products and projects are delivered on-time, on-budget and on-scope.
  • Execute on an early stage program to work with third party implementation partners - typically EHS systems integrators - on Cority customer implementations.
  • Represent the Professional Services Team at Client Project Steering Committee Meetings, applicable Executive Meetings, Internal Stakeholders Meetings
  • 10+ years of management experience leading and managing a business unit
  • Minimum of 8 years’ executive experience in a management role within Professional Services function
  • Proven track record of working in a fast paced, agile work environment will be given preference
  • Proven track record in a leadership role and successfully managed a budget, resources and a business unit
  • Excellent understanding of Project Management, Implementation Process and People Management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with the Executive Team, clients and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Background in a client facing role is an asset
  • Proven ability to innovate processes and test new approaches to continually improve individual and team performance
  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field (Business, Software Development, Health and Safety, Information Technology, etc.)
  • Travel to client sites and other meetings as required
